Sara Saint John Returns to Dark Myth with a Book of Short Stories

February 15, 2010, Apple Valley Ca. After great anticipation, Dark Myth Publications (a subsidiary of Dark Myth Production Studios) is proud to announce the public release of their newest project this year by award winning author, Sara Saint John, titled BLACK HEARTS AND RED BLOOD DREAMS: Tales of Terror and the Supernatural, a collection of fourteen dark short stories and one poem.

Come. Let us journey to another world, a place of fable and myth, where the Harlequin dances as he strives to regain his humanity, and where Beauty meets her Beast under the Fathers' watchful eyes. Let us go to the place where McCollister tries a blood ritual with a Testament bound in human skin. Or we can tour the Gallery of the Midnight Heart, where Selena finds art often imitates life. We can visit Alan as he discovers life might even imitate a DVD, as it does in The Portal. Then let us journey back to the days of yore, where we'll learn the real meaning of the word "Monster." And if we decide to take a side trip through the woods, we must be sure to visit a certain isolated cabin, where the occupants use something other than latex to paint its walls. These are only a few of the stops waiting for us in Black Hearts, Red Blood Dreams: Tales of Terror and the Supernatural.

"I'm so excited about working with Dark Myth Publications," said author Sara Saint John. "Once again, Dark Myth has given me a chance to share my stories, and for that I'm grateful. As a writer, there's nothing I enjoy more than using the page to communicate with my readers and sharing with them a love of the macabre."

"Sara Saint John is a natural story-teller, and her tales of horror will chill you through and through," said Terry D. Scheerer, Dark Myth's President and Editor in Chief. "I absolutely enjoyed this book."

For the first month, BLACK HEARTS AND RED BLOOD DREAMS: Tales of Terror and the Supernatural (Trade paperback, 158 pages; $12.95 plus shipping and handling) will be exclusively available at MythMart (www.darkmythproductions.com/mythmart), and then will become available at BarnesandNoble.com, Amazon.com, as well as Target.com.

Dark Myth Production Studios Announces Restructuring
Expects to Reduce Costs and Operating Expenses by 2010

APPLE VALLEY, CA., June 22, 2009. Dark Myth Production Studios today announced plans for restructuring, following an analysis of the company's structure and efficiency. As a result of this restructuring, the company expects to generate savings in costs and operating expenses by the end 2009. In 2010 the company expects savings from this restructuring to grow to approximately $10 Thousand annually.

The savings are a combination of non-workforce related steps and a significant reduction in Dark Myth Production Studios' workforce. The company's employee population will decline to approximately 20-25 by the end of this year, resulting from workforce reductions, attrition and previously announced actions. The workforce decline will go into affect by the middle of this month. In addition to the savings from the workforce reduction, the company expects savings in merchandising expenses, capital and materials.

"This was very hard to do (letting people go)," said Mario E. Martinez, Dark Myth Production Studios President and Chief Financial Officer. "Everybody within Dark Myth Productions Studios plays an important role and I did not want to see anyone leave, but with the economy the way it is this had to be done. As mentioned in a previous release, myself and Mr.Montoya have even stopped our side projects within the company to cut costs. I hope in they future we will be able to bring everyone back and get Dark Myth Productions Studios back to its original numbers, and with the current blue print laid out we should be able to."

Most job reductions this year will occur in management, marketing and information technology functions; reductions related to the previously announced sale of businesses and attrition. In 2010 the reductions will be more broadly based as Dark Myth Production Studios improves the company's efficiency.

In 2010 the company expects the cost and operating expense savings from this restructuring to grow to approximately $25 Thousand, as it achieves the full-year run rate on the projects implemented in 2009. In addition, Dark Myth Production Studios expects to achieve a capital expenditure avoidance by better utilizing manufacturing equipment and space. The company expects that approximately 25 percent of the project's savings in 2009 will reduce cost of sales, and the rest will reduce operating expenses.

Dark Myth Production Studios is currently in its quiet period, so an update to its business outlook will not be made at this time. Further information concerning savings and costs related to the restructuring project will be provided in quarterly earnings releases and related business outlook estimates. The earnings release for the second quarter of this year is scheduled for publication July 6.

Dark Myth Pictures pulls plug on 'Body Bag'

APPLE VALLEY, CA., June 26, 2008--Dark Myth Pictures (a subsidiary of Dark Myth Production Studios) announced today that effective August 1, 2008, production of "Body Bag" has been cancelled. Dark Myth management made the announcement to staff earlier today.

"This was a difficult decision," said David K. Montoya, President and Chairman of Dark Myth Production Studios. "But the new fiscal year forced Dark Myth management to closely examine each project within the Dark Myth organization. It’s important that we spend our financial resources wisely."

"Body Bag" had been slated for preproduction since January 2007. Since its inception two years ago, the project has hit several problems along the way, from two different leading actresses dropping out, to a seven month legal battle over the rights.

"Body Bag" executive producer Kevin Magnus has been reassigned to the role of senior producer for the next project.

"Body Bag" was originally created in May, 2000, for New Blood Films (NBF). The original script was written by NBF CEO L. Alan Russo Jr. and Dark Myth Founder David K. Montoya. One month after the script was written Russo (who directed the film) wrapped the project. A short time later the 'original' "Body Bag" movie was released on VHS, locally in the tri-southern region. Six years after the original release Russo contracted Montoya to 'revise' the script. Less then a month later New Blood Films went out of business and Dark Myth Pictures quickly picked up the rights, and the revised version has been scheduled for production ever since.

It is in question when the project will be reviewed for reinstatement of production.
